Can I buy tickets in person?

Yes, you can. Our ticket office is open Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm, at the DCVS Office, located at:
7 Albion Street, Brierley Hill, DY5 3EE
(approximately 200 yards from the Civic).
Please note that DCVS is the charity that operates the Civic.

I have not received my tickets.

We send an email with every purchase, which contains a link to download your tickets. However, some email providers (such as Hotmail) may filter this email to the junk folder. Others, such as Gmail, sometimes place it in the “promotions” tab. Please check these folders after making a purchase and add our email address to your safe list. This will also ensure you receive any show update emails from us.

Why is there a booking fee?

We are simply passing on the costs associated with processing your purchase.

  • When you buy tickets online, your credit or debit card issuer charges us a transaction fee.

  • When you purchase tickets over the phone, we cover the costs of our administration staff and the fee charged by your card issuer.

  • If you pay in person using cash, we cover the costs of our administration staff and the fee our bank charges for depositing cash.

Disabled and Wheelchair Access

Wheelchair Access

Wheelchair access is available to all areas of the ground floor. There is only stairway access to the upper floors and balcony seating.
Please notify the box office prior to booking if you require wheelchair seating.

Are pushchairs allowed?

We actively discourage bringing pushchairs, as there is very little space for them inside the theatre. If you cannot attend an event without a pushchair, please email boxoffice@bhillcivic.co.uk before your visit so we can attempt to find a suitable solution.

Facilities

Why does the layout of the room change each time I visit?

The layout depends on the type of event and the number of tickets sold in advance. For a busy theatre-style show, we usually set up rows of seats. For a disco, we may arrange tables and chairs with a dance floor. For a younger audience music event, we might leave the room completely open, whereas for an older audience music event, we might use tables and chairs or theatre-style seating.

Our theatre-style seating capacity is 695. However, if we only sell 100 tickets in advance, we feel the room would appear empty if we set out all 695 seats. Instead, we would arrange tables and chairs to provide more space and comfort for those attending.

Can I bring my own food and drink to events?

Usually, no. We rely heavily on the sale of food and drink to sustain the venue. There are certain events, often private functions, where you are allowed to bring your own, but these are exceptions.
If you wish to query a specific event, please email boxoffice@bhillcivic.co.uk.

We may allow customers to bring in food for medical reasons, but we would expect to be notified in advance or immediately upon arrival.

Do you have booster seats for younger children?

Unfortunately, we do not have booster seats at present. You are welcome to bring your own suitable booster if you wish (it must fit an area of 34cm x 46cm). We are seeking funding to improve all aspects of our seating and will make enhancements as soon as finances allow.
