Relive the golden age of pop with Herman’s Hermits, one of the most successful and beloved bands of the 1960s. With a career that includes meeting Elvis Presley, being supported by The Who on their American tours, and selling over 84 million records worldwide, Herman’s Hermits remain a true icon of British pop music.

Formed in Manchester in 1964, Herman’s Hermits became a defining part of the teenage revolution that transformed modern Britain. Under the guidance of legendary producer Mickie Most, the band shot to international fame with their multi-million-selling No.1 debut hit “I’m Into Something Good”, launching a run of 23 hit records and global chart success.

Their popularity extended far beyond the charts. Herman’s Hermits starred in three feature films, made countless television appearances worldwide, and famously appeared five times on The Ed Sullivan Show — a rare achievement that cemented their status in music history. They also performed at prestigious events such as The Royal Variety Performance.

Today, the band continues to tour to great acclaim, led by original drummer Barry Whitwam, who still brings the music, humour, and unmistakable sound of Herman’s Hermits to audiences of all ages. Their live shows are packed with timeless hits including “Mrs Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter,” “There’s a Kind of Hush,” and “I’m Into Something Good,” alongside fan favourites that defined a generation.

With multi-million streams and downloads, and hugely successful tours across the UK, USA, Australia, Europe, and beyond, Herman’s Hermits still rank among the most successful popular music acts the UK has ever produced.

A true 60s classic — this is a must-see show for any fan of classic pop. 🎶

We Got Soul has been running at The Civic, generally on the last Saturday of the month for over 10 years, it just keeps getting stronger and stronger!

You get all the great soul tunes, generally from the 60’s and 70’s (the odd one sneaks in either side 😊) and we keep on the classic tracks. Nothing too obscure, the big hits and the classic tracks dominate the night. We add a splash of Northern Soul in – again the popular stuff – and it all adds up to a great soulful night, attended by a really, really great crowd.

Think of artists like The Supremes, Otis Redding, Temptations, Four Tops, Billy Ocean, Spinners, Marvin Gaye, Tina Tuner ….

Think of songs like Everlasting Love, Where Did Our Love Go, Working My Way Back To You, Red Light Spells Danger, This Old Heart of Mine, Tears Of A Clown, Do I Love You ….

This is our vibe. It’s joyful and uplifting. We are here to entertain, not to educate you – so we keep the obscure stuff toa minimum, if at all 😊

The Civic has a huge sprung dancefloor so there’s plenty of space to dance the night away and early birds are almost certainly guaranteed a seat.

A really great sound system, clean and punchy, and great visuals make it a quite unique night.

Advance Tickets - £7 (Advance ticket sales stop at 5.00pm the date of the event.)
£8 - On the door if available.

*Over 18s Only
**Limited Seating Available.

Our Northern Soul Friends, a quick note 😊
We play a bit of Northern Soul at We Got Soul, and it is the popular stuff. We tend to avoid the cool, obscure stuff. In truth, we are truly blessed in The Black Country to have some of the best Northern Soul DJ’s in the UK, and on any weekend, there are fantastic nights of pure Northern Soul on all over this area, and this is where the Northern Scene lives and thrives – it is brilliant, but it’s not what we do.
The Northern Soul stuff we play usually isn’t played at pure Northern Soul nights anymore as it’s far too popular, but that is exactly where we sit. So, you’ll definitely hear some Northern Soul, but not some obscure 1967 B Side (though you might find our regular We Got Soul DJ has it at home, where he is a vinyl junkie!) 😊
